Kira Rose Morgan was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She’s lived a life not wanting for anything. One would think that having the ability to merely point at something and get it would turn a young girl into a spoiled little brat. Not so with Kira. While her tastes are expensive and extravagant, she doesn’t flaunt her money or her fame.
Fame? Yes. This girl is an international Show Jumper. Her horses are worth more than the average house and she’s spent her life traveling all over the U.S. and Europe competing. So why is she in St. Charles Bay? Quiet. Relaxation. Yes it’s cold. But Miami, despite its warmth and familiarity is full of people clamoring for her attention and time. Kira likes quiet, peacefulness, serenity. She likes feeling somewhat normal some of the time.
Kira’s deepest, darkest secret is that she is self-destructive and thrives on the sweet numbness that self inflicted pain can bring. The bracelets on her wrists aren’t just there for looks. They hide the scars; deep, horrible scars. You see the one thing that Kira most desperately wants, she can’t have. It’s something that all the money in the world can’t buy, despite her parent’s best efforts to prove otherwise. Love. A parent’s love to be specific. She’s never had it. Her grandfather has always showered her with all the love he can, but it’s not the same as having your mother love you.
Her grandfather. You should probably know about him. He is Alessandro Carlito. The big man in the Carlito/Salvatore families. Who are they? The Italian mafia. They rule Miami. Alessandro is their king and Kira is their princess. It’s why she’s come here. Being the granddaughter of the most loved and most hated man in your city comes with it’s perks and it’s price.
So Kira has come here. With her dog, a few horses, and her favorite car. She’s come to hide away for a few months and pretend she’s just another normal person going about her day to day life. To settle into a routine of monotony that will be a welcome change to the life on the road she’s always followed.
