After her little im conversation with Braydon, a smile was plastered on Peyton's face. In fact the smile had been on her face the second he had replied to her. It was crazy how someone could have such an effect on her. Though of course, she wasn't admitting that all just yet. Then again, it was fairly obvious. Even if Peyton liked to play little games, or pretend to play hard to get, it was pointless. Everyone around her knew exactly the way she felt about Braydon, he already had her in his grip, whether he realised it or not. Moving her thoughts away from him, she got up from her bed and gave herself a quick once over, deciding her clothes were just fine, so she merely ran a brush through her hair to get rid of the tangles, before grabbing her jacket and heading downstairs.
She knew she still had a few minutes to spare, so she headed into the living room, zapping through some tv channels, of course there was nothing on. Or perhaps she was just being impatient. Peyton had always been an impatient person, especially when it comes down to the things she was looking forward to. Waiting was just awful. While she was staring blankly at the boring television screen, she thought back to that very first day she met Braydon. A time Peyton really didn't like to be reminded of. She was on a bad road, which included a lot of parties and drinking. This particular night was no different, only this time she was being harassed by some drunk guy, who clearly couldn't take no as an answer. Thankfully for her, Braydon had come to her rescue before things got ugly, too bad they did get ugly for him though. After some talking and him driving her home, Peyton's life had turned around, for the better. Meeting Braydon was the only good thing that had happened to her during those years. Looking back on it now, she realised how stupid she had been, how dangerous it was. She could have been drugged, kidnapped, raped.. or even worse.
When the doorbell rang, she quickly came back to her senses and jumped up, turning off the television. "I'm going out!" she yelled, to no one in particular, she didn't even know if anyone besides her was in the house. Shrugging on her jacket, she made her way out in to the hallway, opening the front door, with a smile on her face, as she saw Braydon standing on her doorstep. Her smile grew ever so slightly, as she stepped closer, shutting the door behind her, as she wrapped her arms lightly around his neck and placed a sweet kiss on his cheek. "Took you long enough," she joked, a small twinkle in her eyes as she gave him a quick hug, followed by a kiss on the lips. "I've been waiting for that," she whispered softly, as she pulled back and followed him to his car. Peyton had always been a rather affectionate person, she pretty much hugged everyone she was close to, and of course Braydon got a little extra with that. "Are we completely crazy for getting icecream in December?" she asked with a chuckle, as she settled into her seat.

Braydon stood momentarily next to the front desk computer, staring at the screen monitor. A goofy smiled had been thinned on his lips as he exited the IM chat between he and Peyton. In thirty minutes, he'd be taking her out for ice cream - in the middle of the winter. When one of the fellow employees approached Bray, it was apparent that he had been under surveillance the entire time he was talking with Pey. "Go ahead leave, I'll cover the rest of your shift." George, the man offering to take on Bray's work, stood with his arms crossed over his chest. Of course, Bray shook his head - despite how badly he wanted to leave. "No thank you, George. I don't want Pa harping at me for it." At this, his co-worker detested until Bray could do nothing but accept the offer at hand. So he disappeared into the back-room, grabbed his cellphone, and headed upstairs into the loft.
The male sighed as he entered the loft, shutting the door behind him and tossing his phone on his bed. The loft was a comfy room, very private and quiet. Yet it was homely. It was where Bray lived. After turning eighteen, young Bray had wanted to be normal like everyone else - move out of his father's home. But he wanted to stay close to work. What better way to have what he wanted than by living at work? He still paid for rent, and he could stay in the one place he'd actually call home. It wouldn't last forever, though. If Bray still wanted to continue on in a normal lifestyle, he'd have to get married and move out. Which might cause him to find a higher paying job. Unless he became a full time manager, or inherit the bar. That wouldn't happen anytime soon. His father may own the bar, but Braydon still had to start at the bottom and work his way up. Just like everyone else.
There was no time for thinking about living conditions. The male shook his head, ran his hand through his hair, then frantically started to search for appropriate attire. He pulled off his shirt, then opened the top drawer and picked up a plain gray t-shirt. Deciding that it was fine, he pulled it over his head and let it cling to his body. What else was there? Bray didn't want to leave looking like he just got off of work. Not to mention smelling like it. With that, he applied a hint of his Adidas cologne, and then grabbed a wool jacket from his closet. Nearly walking out the door, Bray caught himself - he needed to change shoes. He couldn't wear worn down work shoes. Swiftly, he kicked them off and then slipped into a new pair of New Balances. Now satisfied, he snatched his keys and his phone before heading out.
Roaring with life, Bray's Ford pickup truck sped out of the bar's parking lot. He felt like a rebellious teenager - sneaking off work to go see his girlfriend. He was sure his Pa would understand. This was his first real relationship. The first time he allowed himself to feel excitement about something other than work. Upon driving on the main road, Bray slowed to the speed limit. He was a safe driver, for the most part. Never really had road rage. Occasionally he'd speed if he was anxious to be late for something. But wasn't that normal? He had plenty of time to get to Peyton's. In fact, he had about a fifteen minute time cushion. It didn't take that long to get to her place.
Braydon just barely put his truck into park after pulling into her driveway, before jumping out and ringing the doorbell. He shoved his hands into the front pockets of his jeans and started to rock back and forth on his heels. It didn't take long until the door opened and Peyton's arms were wrapped around his neck. In return, he gently coiled his arms about her waist while she kissed his cheek. "I tried to get here as fast as I could." Before he could even let out a chuckle. the female had hugged him and then pressed her lips to his own. He returned the kiss softly, and allowed a smile curve on his lips as she pulled away. "Crazy for getting ice cream in December? Yeah, we are. But people like us keep those businesses alive during the winter." Since he left his truck running, he jumped into the driver's seat and pulled out of the driveway. "So what are we going to do after ice cream?"
